“You have cancer”. 3 words everyone fears. 3 words that can consume your life. 3 words that make you look at everything around you differently. We have been navigating those 3 words since September of 2018 when Mark was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Mark had been having intestinal issues for a short time. Medications, test, etc. were performed. A colonoscopy was scheduled on August 31, 2018, to rule out any problems in the colon. Well, instead of ruling it out, the scope found a tumor and the cancer had already spread to the kidneys, liver, and tissues around the intestines. Later it would make it to the Lungs.
How do you feel knowing that barring a miracle healing the disease that is ravaging your body and the treatment that comes with its own set of problems is eventually going to take your life? 2-3 years possibly.
We are learning so much about cancer, our life goals, God’s faithfulness, and His mercies that are new every morning! We have an adjusted view of what is important and are taking a practical faith-filled approach to the future.
II Corinthians 4:17-18 says: “For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”
We have loved, served, and trusted Jesus since our teen years…and we trust Him now!! We invite you to journey with us as we face the fears, blessings, anger, sadness, hope, heaviness, happiness, and everything in between!
It is our prayer that we can encourage you in some way as we all do our best to live a life with meaning and purpose.
